We started Sandwich Philosophy in 2024 with one belief: the sandwich deserves the same serious attention that any great restaurant gives to any great dish. Every element matters, from the bread to the sauce to the sequence of the layers.
We source locally because it tastes better, not because it's trendy. We make things by hand because shortcuts show. And we name our sandwiches after ideas, because great food should make you feel something beyond just full.
Before we open, we collect from SA farms and our local bakery. Bread is baked to our spec. Produce arrives the morning it's used, so nothing sits overnight.
Three hours of prep for a five hour service. Slow roasts, brines, pickles and sauces. Every condiment housemade. Every protein treated properly.
Each sandwich assembled to order. Layer sequence matters. Temperature matters. The ratio of every component is calibrated deliberately.
You receive something made with genuine care and serious thought. Not assembled. Not mass produced. Crafted with a name that matches the idea behind it.

Tuesday closed. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday include a break between lunch and dinner service.
Our first store is open through the week with burgers, sides, sauces, drinks and tacos ready from the Welland kitchen.

Eating out every day became exhausting. One phone call to mom changed everything. I discovered that cooking wasn't just about filling a plate. It was about filling myself with joy.
As a graphic designer obsessed with details, fonts, spacing, color, I realized cooking was the same. Bread became canvas. Sauces became brushstrokes. Both demanded precision. Both rewarded creativity.
Life took me to Oman where I started my first food business. Simple, focused on sandwiches, but it ignited a fire. I discovered I wasn't just into sandwiches; I was passionate about everything: dough, buns, sauces, meat, cheese.
Back in Adelaide, it was time to give the passion a proper name. Sandwich Philosophy was born, not just about sandwiches, but about ideas, moods, and experiments. Each creation became a philosophy.
The Benchmark is the best burger I've had in Adelaide. Full stop. Two patties, perfectly smashed, cheese melted just right. I've been back four times in three weeks. Zero regrets.
The Hot Take is criminally good. The jalapenos hit properly, the beef stays juicy, and that house sauce brings the whole thing together. Spicy option? More like the best option.
The Existential Onion got me. I didn't expect much from an "onion burger" but it's genuinely transcendent. The Oklahoma smash technique with those onions cooked right into the patty is extraordinary.
